In case you use the graphical settings thingy, you can also fix it by going to "window decoration" and switch the value from "any" (default) to "windows". Like that only the actual windows will be shadowed and the white borders disappear.

But thanks a lot, Kerneljack, I would not have found it, if it wasn't for this post.

I am actually having this same problem on my Kubuntu box. I'm getting the error with Java 1.5 & Eclipse 3.2. After looking into it, I noticed my jvm.cfg is blank. Finding the jvm.cfg for Java 1.5 is proving difficult; and just reinstalling the packages from scratch didn't resolve it either. I'm still working with it, but have been googling about it for two days now. I guess I'll just download the package from Sun and grab the file out of there.

Actually, Wikiwyg works with IE and Firefox. True, IE ain't quite a browser, but I fathom those two cover everyone but me (the lone Konqueror/Safari user). Ingy is, I know that, working on Safari compatibility as well, we'll see a Safari compliant version relatively soon, I am sure.

Diet? What diet? ;)

On the blog: EXCELLENT work! I'm impressed! Glad to see you got a fresh start and have done something so good with it. I see a lot of content there too, though it's mostly video games related (and all on Nov 23rd?). I myself don't post much here, only once in a while.

I see you've subscribed to del.icio.us as well! Give me your del.icio.us address so I can add you to my inbox.

Be sure to check out the blog search tools Technorati, Feedster and Pubsub. Get a subscription to Bloglines or NewsGator to read your feeds online, it's better than reading them offline on a news reader and synchronizing all over the place.

They've also got a Directory of the best feeds there so you won't need to hunt for the good ones, or you can use my blogroll for some.

Overall, great work. I'm subscribing today ;)

About your driving lessons,
I must admit that I really enjoy your article. I had kind the same thoughts about 15 months ago. The main answer for the usage of cars is that car means emancipation (I know it sounds like Maria Carey's latest record).
Fortunatelly, I passed both exams theoretical and practical without paying the examinants (this is what usually happends here), and today, about 10 months since I got my driving licence I bought my first car.
So, I am waiting for your progress.
George

Glad to know about your solution for the PC noise. I agree with you that Macs are not that quiet as some people claim them to be. I have a powerbook, and it is almost as noisy as my new quiet desktop. Also, I think you made a better choice by using the Zalman CPU cooler instead of the SilverStone NT01 v2.0 Heatsink that I used since with an 80MM fan my heatsink is noisier than what I would like.

Thanks for the kind words about the London metroblog. At a time when the poison pen merchants have driven away some good writers and, for those of us who are still blogging, they are much appreciated. Should you wish to join us, we'd be glad to have another on board. Let me know.
All the best

thanks, bnug :) I appreciate your offer and might take it up sometime in the future ... I need to develop my blogging skills more, revamp this site, learn some photoblogging, etc once I get a cameraphone. That's something I would really like to do.

Thanks once again for the offer, keep up the good work, don't worry, for all the people who left some good ones will hopefully join soon. London is quite a distinct, different, and *sometimes* charming place ;) As was posted a while ago on the London Metblog, I also have a Love/Hate relationship with London. Lots of good writing material there ;)

Currently I am working at the National Observatory of Athens(http://www.gein.noa.gr/) as a programmer.

I'm using PHPWeather as the backup. It gets weather information from airports nearby, just like WindowMaker's wmWeather dockapp. It is not a 5-day forecast unfortunately, just updated to within the last hour or so. But for the purposes of my site, I just needed a weather display at the most basic so it didn't have to be a 5-day forecast.

Take a look at my software page for an example of how I configured my IV parser to drop down to PHPWeather in case of problems. It's a simple 'if' statement.
